Who let the dogs in? (We did!)
Here at Owen House, the barn sits at the centre of real rural life. The farm welcomes you with fields, tractors, livestock, muddy boots and early mornings. The farming heritage shapes the heart of our venue, giving us our authentic character and warm atmosphere that couples fall in love with. And a big part of farm life? Dogs.
Part of the family
Dogs are part of our daily life here… part of the family, part of the team and often part of the fun. It is most likely that you will see Ed, the farmer out and about around the farm and venue at least once whilst you are here with us. Whether he’s checking livestock, preparing the barn, or chatting with couples about their big day, there is normally always a wagging tail close by.
Dogs belong here, and that’s why we’re so happy to welcome yours too.
Dogs Can Be Part of Your Day
We know that for many couples, their dog is part of the family. Most of them will have heard all the planning and everything that accompanies the journey towards the big day. So it feels only right they should be there to celebrate with you.
At Owen House Wedding Barn, we allow dogs inside the venue for the ceremony, photographs and time with guests. This means they can be part of the majority of your day, from greeting guests on arrival to walking down the aisle.
Many couples choose to include their dog in special roles, such as:
- Walking down the aisle
- Being a ring bearer or featuring in the ceremony moments
- Joining group photos and couple portraits
- Spending time as a guest during the drinks reception
There’s something incredibly special about having your pup by your side, the photos are always unforgettable.
Up Until the Wedding Breakfast
Dogs are welcome inside the barn and to enjoy the celebrations up until the wedding breakfast begins. This allows them to be part of all the key emotional and photographic moments of the day.
When it’s time for the meal, many couples arrange for a trusted friend, family member or professional dog sitter to take care of their dog for the evening. This ensures your pet is comfortable and settled while you relax and enjoy the rest of your celebrations.
More Than a Venue… It’s Our Home
Owen House Wedding Barn isn’t a corporate events space. It’s our home, our farm and our family business. The atmosphere you feel when you visit is real and that includes the dogs.
So if you’re dreaming of a wedding day where your four-legged best friend can walk beside you, pose for the photos and celebrate the big moments, we would love to welcome you both.
After all, around here, love comes with muddy boots… and muddy paws.
